Yet another Covid Lockdown Update
Posted on by
Though the extension of this lockdown until March 5th is not unexpected it is still upsetting and disheartening.
I have to say in all the years of working within the professional pet care industry I have never seen so many of my fellow dog trainers, groomers, dog carers etc so upset and worried. The same feelings that I know are echoed throughout all small businesses that I can see. So many have closed their doors in line with government restrictions, worried about how to survive, the constant mental anguish weighing up the importance of a stable livelihood versus the importance of health, community spirit and emotional wellbeing.
Positive Dog Training will now be closed for all services except veterinary referrals until 5th March at the earliest. We will not be making any appointments for grooming, in person training, day-care or group training classes until we have a definite date by the government for when we can reopen.
We will continue to offer our remote training options which have been very successful. And please, do contact us, if there is anything we can do to help anyone who is having an issue with a puppy/dog we will.
Veterinary Referral – A quick note on veterinary referral for grooming and training. This is only available for welfare cases. If you feel your dog is suffering either from need of grooming or for some behavioural issue your first call needs to be to your vet. We will not be making any appointments for training or grooming without contact first from your vet. I am aware that there are some groomers and trainers who have continued to operate regardless of the lockdowns. Its has been started clearly by the government that dog training and dog grooming are deemed non-essential and this is why we are not open for business.
To all our clients who have been in touch and checking in on us, thank you so much, it means a lot. All the team are missing the dogs so much and we would love to be in a position to welcome you all back to the centre but sadly it is not possible at the moment. For those who have continued to support PDT by buying our gift boxes, thanks so so much. Every little really does help and makes a difference, also keep me busy!!! We will be offering a new one from Valentines Day, so keep an eye out and show you dog the love.
Take care and stay safe, Liz and all the team at PDT x
