Only 1 handler per dog allowed to attend classes or drop a dog into the centre for grooming or daycare
Masks must be worn throughout class. If you forget your mask, do speak to one of our team and we can supply a disposable one for you.
Please follow the directions of the PDT team, and sanitise on arrival, during class and when leaving.
Please do not approach other handlers or their dogs and maintain social distance at all times.
From Monday 8th June, Positive Dog Training is starting the process of reopening the business having been closed since March 19th. We would ask all our clients to have a read through our new systems for each area and to work with us and be patient while we all get used to the new system and protocols.GENERAL
Please adhere to all social distancing signage and hygiene signage.
No more than 2 people in the shop area at any one time.
One person per dog for all drop-offs (daycare/grooming)
If you are feeling unwell and showing any of the now recognised signs, cough, temperature over 38, breathlessness or have been in contact with anyone who has suspected or diagnosed COVID, please cancel your booking with us and we will reschedule asap when you are better.
As much as we love you all, and we are really looking forward to catching up, please limit the time in the shop to under 15 minutes. We are happy to see you wear a mask and all of our team have been issued with masks and face shields to use when necessary, BUT please be aware this may spook some of the other dogs coming into the building. Keep distance from all other dogs and their owners and please be patient.
Please be aware for all lead transfers, our team will be wearing gloves and disinfecting the leads when removed from the dog.All dogs on arrival at the centre will be misted down with Leucillin, a non-toxic and non-irritant antiseptic spray which kills germs by destroying bacteria on contact. All payments types will be accepted, however, card payments, online payments, payment over the phone or by Revolut are preferred. If you are paying through our online shop or by revolut, please ensure to list your dogs' name and service to help speed things up on our end. To pay by phone call 01 9013018.
Day-care will operate on a 4 day week, Tues, Wed, Thurs & Fri for the foreseeable future. All dogs must be pre-booked in for their day-care fun and games. Please confirm your required days with the team in the shop as soon as you know when you need us or email firstname.lastname@example.org A lot of your work schedules are changing, possibly you are working from home or your will not be going back to work until the children return to school in the Autumn and we totally understand that. Please keep in mind that we cannot hold open daycare places for dogs until then as much as we try to ignore it most of the time, we are a business.
In an effort to reduce cross-contamination, we ask that if your dog does require a lunch during the day that they are with us, that you bring it in a disposable bag rather than a lunch box to reduce cross-contamination.
If your dogs behaviour has changed during lockdown please do let us know. We are expecting a lot of extremely excited dogs to come through the doors after such a long break so the more information we have the better we can work with your dog to make sure they have the best day possible.
Grooming, we are aware that many of our grooming clients are anxious to have their dogs groomed as quick as possible and the team will be working hard to get through the backlog as quickly as possible. Currently, we are booked out until the end of June/beginning of July and we have a cancellation list already and will get to everyone as soon as we possibly can.
To keep things moving as safely and swiftly as possible, we ask that you attend on time for your appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer your space to another client. If you are more than 10 minutes late, sadly we will have to reschedule your appointment.
With our enhanced grooming room hygiene protocols, we will not be able to hold onto your dog after their groom has been finished, You will be called 15 minutes before your dog is ready for collection and we ask that you ensure that you are available to collect them or nominate someone else to do so.
Humanity before Vanity – A note from the grooming team
Usually when you drop your dog in for a groom the grooming team would meet with you and discuss how your dogs coat would be clipped/styles and flag any problems to you like matting or tangles. Due to current restrictions, this will not be possible as we are aiming to reduce face to face contact with clients for all our team. While we will endeavour to groom your dog in his/her usual style, please be aware that is this is not possible due to matting your dog will need to be clipped short this time. While this may not be your preference, we as dog groomers have strict welfare guidelines to adhere to. Your dogs' comfort comes before everything else and we will not be dematting tails/ears etc as this is uncomfortable for your dog. Most of the dogs will be way overdue a groom which is not your fault, but equally, it is not our fault or your dogs' fault. So please understand, as always, we will do what is best for your dogs' welfare and it is only hair and it will grow back. Joss, Zoe & Emma :-)
Group training classes will resume this month at the centre. We have reduced by 20% the number of dogs to 6 per class to ensure extra extra social distancing, and no more than 1 person to accompany the dog to class.
121 training – For the next few weeks, private lessons will take place only at the PDT centre and we will not be offering home visits at the current time. Private lesson can be booked by emailing email@example.com. As we have a dedicated training room available for 121 training, a max of 4 people can attend from the one household.
We are also offering “virtual” Zoom training sessions, especially great for those who have gotten young puppies and need some advice. Again email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
We are all really looking forward to getting back to normal and seeing all our dog pals again. Its been a long few weeks and we have missed you all so much. All the team are raring to go, having done our COVID induction training today and all getting the chance to catch up.
Its so important to me (Liz ) as a business owner that I keep the team and all our clients as safe as possible, and I know before we even open the doors next week that we have the best type of clients who will work with us to keep us all safe and healthy.
